A New Life in America
By Carlanda | From : Haiti | School : Plantation High SchoolI am a kind and loving person who always puts my family first. I take on a lot of responsibility taking care of my niece.
When I arrived here, I was always the one helping my older sister take care of her son, washing, ironing, bathing, and feeding him. I helped with homework, played with him, went outside, and looked after him to ensure he was always happy. I am like a second mother to him.
Despite the challenges and difficulties of life in a large family, I never complained or asked for anything in return.
I was selfless and generous, always putting others before myself. I was a pillar of my family, someone we all admired.
I am also talented and hardworking. I excel in school, I always strive for good grades, and I work diligently to achieve my goals. I participate in extracurricular activities, such as sports and music, and I excel in these areas as well. I’ve been a true role model for my family; I love cooking so much, finally, showing them that with hard work and determination, anything is possible.
Despite the challenges I’ve faced, I remain positive and hopeful for the future. I dream of one day going to college and pursuing my passions, and my family believes in me, and I’m convinced I’ll accomplish great things. I have a true love for my family.
In conclusion, I live with my sister and her son and I am a remarkable person. I am truly kind, loving, talented and hardworking, and I am an inspiration to my family.
