My travels around South America

I was born on December 3rd, 2010 in Hollywood Florida. I recently just turned 15 years old and currently in 9th grade. I like traveling especially in South America because of their culture, food, and because I have family there. I have a huge family there, mainly in Argentina. Throughout the years when I was young (when I was 6-9 years old I believe)I went to 3 countries. The countries I went to were Argentina, Peru, and Colombia. I don’t remember what happened while I was there, so I‘ll skip them. I went to these countries again in 2022-2023. Let’s start with Peru and Argentina. I went to these countries all in one trip over the course of 2 or 3 weeks (for my sisters quinceañera) and saw a lot of amazing stuff. A very memorable part of this trip was when I went to Machu Picchu, one of the 7 wonders of the world. We were staying in Cusco for a few days for this and we got to Machu Picchu by train. The mountains were really beautiful and breathtaking. It was so cool seeing the houses and the structures. The way they were built was pretty interesting. We had a tour guide that told us the history of the place which was interesting . I wish I could go there again.  We also went to Huacachina, a popular oasis spot in the desert. Over there it was surprisingly cold and we went in a buggy car and drove around the desert. It was like a rollercoaster because we were going fast and there were hills there so that made the experience much more fun. And then we went sand boarding and that was nice.I was on top of the sand dunes and I got to see the entire town which was cool.  And when we were going back to the bus that took us there I rolled down one of the hills which was pretty fun too. We also visited some ruins and saw Alpacas.  And then we went to Argentina which I don’t really remember much other than my sister’s quinceañera. The party was huge. There were sooo many people there, around 70% of them I didn’t even know I was related to. I’d say there were around 40-60 people at that party, maybe even more. There were dancers and singers there and the cake my sister had was a 3 layered one. The place we held the party was my aunt’s house. That house was pretty big. It had 3 floors and a backyard that had a big lime tree. They used the backyard to put a party tent with a heater inside. We continued partying until 7 am!!! I stayed up stairs for most of the party because it was too loud for me. At some point in the party, they played a video of my sister growing up.  And that’s about all I remember on that trip. By far one of my favorite trips I’ve had. A year later I went to Columbia which was also nice. We first went to Santa Rosa de Cabel. We got there by riding a truck and we got to see the towns and landscape which was nice. It was also really beautiful with the waterfalls and landscape. They also had hot springs too and that was my most favorite part of the hotel. After that we went to Salento to see the landscape. And then we traveled to Villeta, where my aunts live, and then La Vaga, Sasaima, Bogota, and then Albán where my aunt and uncle lives. In Albán they live in a rural area and have a ranch. They have chickens, a parrot, and a lot of dogs (I don’t remember the exact amount but I think it’s 4). The landscape was really nice and we stayed in the ranch for a few days. In Bogotá, we got to see the whole view of the city and it’s breathtaking. I never knew the city was this big. And that was the end of the trip. This year we did go to Peru again and it wasn’t as eventful as the other one but it was still nice. We stayed there for 2 weeks and stayed in Lima for most of our time  there. We did get to see some cool stuff like a cat park (one of my favorites in this trip) and nice landscape. We stayed with my family for a bit and then went to Cajamarca to see more family and stay in their place for 2 days. They had guinea pigs and rabbits to eat. The view was nice and we got to see a lot of the city.

That pretty much wraps up my travels there. There are more places I went to that I’m not mentioning like New York, Georgia, North Carolina, and Colorado because this story is based on my travels in South America. Traveling makes me feel happy because I get to see these cool, amazing places and take a break from life and do new experiences.
