New country, new life
By Mannuel granadillo | From : Venezuela | School : Everglades High SchoolMy name is Manuel Granadillo, I am 15 years old and I from Venezuela. I came to this country because of the political situation in Venezuela. In my country, we live in really critical and precarious situation. There is no food, the electricity goes out for a long time, inflation is very high, and there are few resources needed to survive. Protests were made to try to solve the situation, but with these protests, nothing was achieved and there were even many dead and injured people according to the National Police. These reasons and many other things made my family take the decision to leave my country in order to have a better future and a better quality of life.
It was not easy to leave part of my family and friends in Venezuela, but all this was necessary to have a future and a good quality of life. Starting in a new country with many different things and a new language is difficult, since it is not easy to start from scratch in a new country, it requires effort, but in the end it will have a good result. I think my family made a good decision to leave my country because with this we can give a better quality of life and a better future. When I arrived in this country I did not have any friends I thought it would be hard for me to make friends and socialize in school, but when I went to school in my Esol class I started to meet Latino people who spoke my language, and people from my country which was good since I was able to make friends quickly.
