Place of the Past

I am from mountains and volcanoes
I am from a lot of different candies laid out on the shop tables
I am from beans and tortillas
I am from the best culture around world,
Where the elders wear manta to show their pride
I am from where the most of the people pray
I am from the place that you feel complete
I am from the fresh brewed coffee every morning
I am from parents hitting you for obvious misbehavior
I am from where every morning the gallo says “cucurrucucu”
I am from the place of people who work in the land.

What is the matter?

Now the feelings are affecting me like a 100 percent,
I think that I have too much.
I always feel stressed.
I always think that I can’t do something
that is hard or difficult for me.
Now I have a lot of responsibility on my own.
I have the responsibility of many works and always moving to the next class.
my family responsibility to build a house in a different country
my responsibility of a crazy restaurant with tired workers
and also my own life responsibility.

But when all that happened I never gave up
because I know I’m stronger than my own feelings or emotions.
I always think that I can do everything that I want.
For me it doesn’t matter how I feel
even If I’m sad, bored or something like that.
For me it is more important how my family feels
and how to help my whole family.

Your Dreams are Better than your Things

In 10 years from now I will see my whole familia, have a good job
I live in my home country Guatemala.
It has a lot of animals like chickens, houses , pinks, dogs, cats,
I see in my future working in the police force to protect the lives of the women
who are experiencing violence.

Protect the lives of these men who have an addiction
like drug addiction or alcohol
I see my future working with my father in the land
past special time with my father and my mother
time that we will never forget
I see my future complete and also all of my emotions complete
and when all that happens I will say now everything is perfect.
