Sometimes, I have no memory
By Doodline Vincent | From : Haiti | School : Northeast High SchoolHi, my name is Judeline Vincent. I am 14 years old and I was born in Haiti. I traveled to the United States at the age of 8. While I was in Haiti, I did not have a good life that many people around the world wished for. From what I remember and from what I have been told, my life in Haiti was very dangerous. When I was a baby, I was in a fire inside my home. Although my family and I were safe, I lost many valuable things that my family cherished. We lost all of our clothes, family ornaments, and old family pictures. When I was 4 years old, I fell from a flight of cement stairs and almost lost my life. In 2008, I experienced the flood, Anna, and in 2010 I was in the devastating earthquake that killed thousands of people that left survivors without homes. And because of all this, I sometimes feel that I have no memories of my family in Haiti.
