Beauty of where I am from

I am from hot chocolate and bread in early morning
I am from noises resonating everywhere through the mountains
From fresh air coming through the open porch
From fried seasoning and spaghetti.

I am from loud shouting in the distance
From large clear and beautiful beaches
From stacked small houses
From loud shouting from blakawout.

I am from people bathing almost naked in public
I am from best hot seasoning and flavor
From messy food fairs
From suffering and violence.

I am from deepest caves
I am from delicious Lalo
From a disrupted government
From vibe and Konpa.

Present

Rolling through my heart

Movement has always been part of my life. By movement I refer to my love for skating. Skating gives me joy and satisfaction, feeling the air through my hair rolling in the obstacles ahead of me with a quivering heart, as my passion is transformed into my biggest enemy. Where the ground makes one with my feet as my breath is shortened. It has been part of me and will be strengthened as time passes even though I forget it sometimes. It will still move in my mind, more than a passion is a strong desire that flourishes in me.

To my improved self

Dear future Mara,

In 10 years I hope you didn’t give up like I did many times. I hope you succeed in everything I didn’t pursue and realise that you actually are good at, such as cooking and dancing. I hope you feel proud of what you have accomplished so far. I hope you feel the same peace that I do and be confident you can do everything. You just have to have faith to move on.
I want you to become the empowered agribusiness woman you alway dreamed of, have the happiness you have been kept away from and approval you never really felt. I want you to be the confident, mature, self controlled woman you are destined to be.
At this point in my life, I’m facing some challenges connected to financial management. So I hope by the time you read this, it will be a thing from the past and you are successful and spiritually rich, surrounded by the person who truly loves you.

There are things I want to remind you of when you read this like the importance of staying in the presence of God, staying determined, and surrendering everything to God.
