My Journey from Honduras
By Lixandra Sarmiento | From : Kansas City, MO | School : East High SchoolOn July 4, I left Honduras. Before I left I did many things. First, I went shopping. Second, we had a little party. Third, I went to say goodbye to my friend. When I left my country, I felt happy because I was going to meet new friends. I also felt good because I wanted to learn how to speak good English.
My journey to America was exciting. It took me 23 days to get to america. First, I prayed Jesus to cover me with his blood. Next, I trusted God to bring me to America. After that, we rode a small car. I was bored in the car. I ate some Honduran meals in the car. During my journey to America, I felt good because God was with me. Once we arrived in Kansas City, I felt happy because I was going to meet new friends.
Coming to America was awesome for me.
I arrived in Kansas City on August 12, 2016.
Before I came to america, I did many things.
First, I had a little celebration with my family.
Second, I went shopping instead of helping my sister.
At the end of my first day in America, I felt happy because I got to see my family.
I go to East High School . My school in Kansas City is different than my school in my country. First, high school in my country has 3 grade levels whereas in the United States, it has 4 grade levels. Second, the school building is small in my country. Third, students speak Spanish in school in Honduras. However, school here is also similar to school in my country . First, we also eat lunch at school. Second all my teachers are nice. I like everything about East High School. It is the best place to learn English.
Today my life is beautiful. First, I am going to school in America. Second, I am here with my parents .Third, I have a lot of friends. I feel cheerful about moving to america . I feel emotional because I am with my parents and I am in school. I also feel cheerful because I am here in america. I am grateful that I moved to america.
