I Have Always Wanted to be an Independent Man

By Jonathan Marroquin  |   From : Boston, MA  |   School : East Boston High School

Hello my name is Jonathan Marroquin and I am going to tell you a little story of my life. Let’s get started.

My happiest day was when I turned 16 years old because I have always wanted to be an independent man. I have been thinking about turning 16 since I was 10 years old. I wanted to have my permit license and drive a car. In the future I wanted to be prepared that when I bought a car, I could drive it. I was happy when I got my permit license. It took several tries because I didn’t get it the first time when I went to try the test to get my permit license. I said to myself, I don’t have to be sad I need to have some patience. When I passed the test and got my permit, I called all the members of my family and they said congratulations. I could drive the car and I was happy. I was proud of myself because when I was little, I was dreaming to be 16 years old and to have my permit license.
Another of my dreams is to be a better student by doing my homework and then graduating from high school. It’s an important part of my future because having an education can help me to get a better job and others things. I have made big changes to start being more independent. I began being independent when I started working at C&W Services and start paying and buying my stuff with my own money. I am starting to be responsible for myself. I get really proud of myself because, thanks to God, I’m being successful in my life. I’m a happy person and I don’t like to be sad. I always like to be happy. It doesn’t matter what happens, I’m always happy. If I’m sad, I don’t like to show it because people wouldn’t care. It’s my life, so I’m happy the way I am.
