In Bangladesh, I had a dark brown bird

I had a dark brown bird
Myna
I took care of my bird
Giving her food
When I saw my bird was hungry
And cleaning the cage
Bathing Myna
I said, “Hello.”
Myna said, “Hello” back
Coo-Coo, Coo-coo, Coo-coo
She was talking to someone
When she saw the neighbor through the window
Coo-coo, Coo-coo, Coo-coo
One day I went to Dhaka
Myna was staying
Alone, without me
In her cage with an open door
There was a dangerous black cat
Next door to my house
The cat came in
and the cat ate my bird
When I came home
My uncle told me that
The cat ate my bird
Then I was crying
I loved my Myna.
Now there is only silence.
When I came to USA
I cried a lot because
I missed my country
I missed my friends
Like a cat ate my bird
Now there is only silence.
