I feel a strong link with the rest of the world
By Dana | From : Marseille | School : Lycee St CharlesMy name is Dana, I am –soon to be- 16 and I live in Marseille, France.
My hobbies are mainly reading and playing the music.
I have always lived in Marseille and have only been to other countries for vacation, but I still feel a strong link with the rest of the world, different ethnicities and cultures.
For example, I am part of the “OIB” section of my school, the “International option of the Baccalauréat”, where I study English literature. It makes me discover literature from English-speaking countries and works of literature that are written in English though it is not the writer’s mother tongue.
I tend to learn new languages easily and I intend to learn more and more to visit many other countries when I am an adult. Plus, I do not necessarily intend to live in France all my life.
I also have to say, as Marseille is situated next to the Mediterranean Sea and has a big harbor, it is one of France’s cities to have the most people from different cultures. Where I live, actually only a few amount of my neighbors are French; by living next to so many different people with different cultures and languages, I learn a lot about the differences in the world.
