First day. First hour in school. First period.

At the end of first period,

I hear someone talking in the mike,

Then, music plays, everyone stands up.

I don’t know what is happening

What is going on,

I don’t know anything,

Is that a prayer or what???

Everyone puts their hands on their chest,

Everyone looks to the flag,

Every day they do that,

I want to know what that is,

It is the national anthem

It is the pledge of allegiance.
