Hi! My name is Veronica Valdes and I am going to share my personal “I Learn America” story. I am an immigrant student of the United States. I came here because my father loss his job and we didn’t have any money in Cuba. I came here with my brother and my parents. When my grandmother found out about my father losing his job,  she requested an interview for my family and I to be able to move to the United States. Two months  later they gave us visas. So we came to US on September 20,  2014.

My first day of school was good but at the same time bad. I was nervous because I don’t know anyone. We go to the office and one girl help my brother and me to get to the class. And after  we go to the lunch and in the lunch we know new people and the other class is good. And that’s how was my first day of school.
