Hi my name is Juan Pedro and I’m gonna tell you about my first time in the school when I moved to the United States. It was on August 5, 2022 that I moved from Mexico with my parents and my sister to Miami. My parents had processed our citizenship papers for us. It was a good experience since I was getting to know new places outside my country such as restaurants, hotels, etc. but I felt sad, lonely, I felt hollow inside as if I felt like I needed a piece of puzzle so I told them to my parents and my sister that I felt bad since I didn’t have any friends here. Well they weren’t going to make the same friends as my friends in Mexico so they told me that I was going to enroll in school and that I would make new friends. At first I felt happy but then I felt nervous since I didn’t know any friends, much less the school, plus I didn’t know English.
Shortly after, I found a boy who spoke Spanish and who was from Guatemala, his name was Rubelsy. He took me to all my classes. Besides that, he introduced me to his friends. He knew whom to talk to and chat, so I told them about how I am, where my tastes were, etc. I listened to how they told me about their life. After a while, in all my classes, I had friends, my parents took me in. I was happy because now I was telling them where my friends were from and how I met them. My parents congratulated me because I had made new friends and that each one was like my friends from Mexico, so from that moment on I was happy because I met friends. who I could trust.
