My name is Jacely Mendez. I came from Dominican Republic when i was 11 years old. I came here because my mom got married with someone that lived here. to be honest, i was really excited and happy to come to america, Eventhough i had to leave all my friends and family behind, it meant a lot to me that my mom gave me a choice to move to America. For me, to be in America means the whole world to me because i want to make my dreamcome true of being the first one in my family to go to college. I also want to go to law school, and become a lawyer. meeting new friends, learning English was easy for me because i was in a classroom where everyone speak spanish and i didn’t feel left out or anything. however some times i feel like I’m alone because everyone here is very isolates and there are not many people as there are in Dominican Republic. I’m Jacely Mendez and I’m so happy that i came to America, so far its been an awesome Journey.
