If you want something, go and earn it.
By Christopher | From : Florida | School : Everglades High SchoolMy name is Christopher Vascones. I am 18 years old and I live in Florida. My mother was born in Habana, Cuba and my father from Guayaquil, Ecuador. My parents are divorced so my brother and I grew up with my mother. Ever since my brother and I were young my mother has always taught us traditional values, and looked out for us.
Growing up with my mother has shown me what hard work is and how to earn your own things. She taught that is you want something go, earn it, work for it. I got a job at Winn-Dixie so I could pay my own car, and the car’s insurance. Having that job has shown me what it is to work for yourself and to learn the value of money. My mother has also guided me throughout my life showing whats wrong and right to help me make my own decisions.
When I graduate high school I will be attending Florida International University. During that time I will also be attending Miami Dade College to complete my EMT program to pursue my career as a firefighter. My family has told me I can do anything even attend FIU while getting my EMT. They have pushed me to do everything that could impact my life in a positive way. All because of how I have been guided by my family and pushed passed my limits helped me get that much closer to my future goals and becoming successful.
