Todo es posible
By Gerardo | From : Cuba | School : Palm Springs Middle SchoolMy name is Gerardo. I was born in Santa Clara [Cuba] in 2008, my parents are originally from Cuba and my grandma is from Spain. When I was 5 years old I started school until the middle of 5th grade because I came here. We came here for a better future and for better medical care because I got a problem in my heart.
When I came here to the United States, I was happy and sad at the same time because I was going to see my dad but I was going to leave my grandparents. And that made me feel so sad. When it came on the plane it was very windy and I was very scared because it could not land 3 times. And that made me feel so scared.
A great memory of my country that I will never forget is when my dad gave me my puppy. That made me feel so happy because it was gonna be another friend for me.
Here in the United States everything is good for me. I’m learning new things all day like science, math and history. I am happy because I am also learning English every day.
With my experiences in this country I learn that everything is possible. My plan for the future is to be a good doctor in cardiology because I want to help other people with their heart. I want people to learn that if you want to do it, you can do it. Anything is possible. Just look at me.
Todo es posible, mirenme a mi.
