I come from narrow pebbled streets and oxdrawn carts

I come from hot humid summers and rainy monsoons

I come from tall towering palm trees swaying to and fro/from side to side/dancing

I come from lazy afternoons spent sipping coconut water

I come from ripe juicy delicious golden mangoes bursting with flavor

I come from pleasant strolls, evenings spent relaxing by the seaside

Sitting on the sand, watching the waves crashing on the shore as the sun darted behind the hills

slowly disappearing from view, hidden

I remember sleeping on woven carpets/mats and wooden cots lying under the twinkling stars in

the night sky

I come from sultry afternoons spent haggling at the local flea market the bazaar

I come from early mornings taking in the fragrant scent of the white jasmine blossoms

I come from leisurely walks on the veranda/terrace with my chai in hand
