I live my life by my principles and my values

Hello, my name is Melissa, I am 17 years old. I have lived in France since I was little. So, why am I here? Because my father decided to come live in France. When he was younger in the beginning he played football professionally. After his studies he focused on football, and he went to play football in Germany. He played on the professional team. Next, he gave up his professional career because he was injured. He went to France to live when we were little: me, my brother, and my sister. After he made us come so that we could live with him, and also my mother.

I was lucky, I didn’t have a lot of family problems. My father and my grandfather could do our papers so that we could travel safely, and in good conditions. We took a plane to come to France. Next, I made my life here. In the beginning it was hard, because it’s true that I was very little. I didn’t understand what was happening. I thought that I would come back to Cameroon. I thought that I would stay only a few months. But, many years passed and I stayed in France.

I got used to living in France. When I go back to Cameroon, I tell myself that I can no longer live here. Simply because we grew up in France. We have more French culture than Cameroon culture.
I know where I came from, and where I am going. I love Cameroon, it’s my life and my parents come from there. But, France is where I spend most of my life. I prefer the French way of living.
Now, my life is good. I don’t have many problems in my life. School goes well for the moment. It’s true that I miss Cameroon, but I like my life in France.

Life is very complicated in Cameroon, whereas in France it is much simpler. Even so, the difference between France in Cameroon is that in Cameroon, people are very happy and take advantage of life. In France, people are very serious and work too hard.

Africa is more concentrated in the life of society more than development and technology. The people are united together. Africa shares a lot with the world.

I live my life by my principles and my values. My power comes from my past. The worst day I had was when I lost my grandfather. It was a very painful moment for me because I loved him so much. He was an important person for me. But as they say, what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger. Since I fight to get what I want, I believe in my dreams and never give up.
